Old N Gold

Old ‘n’ Gold is a family owned jeweler and gold merchant. The Owners purchased and renovated a historic, two-storey commercial building for their permanent business. The building had already been renovated extensively over its 100 year history. The renovation included significant structural improvements for a mezzanine and a vault and construction of new stairs and exits for the ground and basement level suites.

Notably, a previous renovation had reconfigured the street-level storefront with a deep alcove spanning the width of the building and an unenclosed stair leading to an unoccupied basement suite. The T.I. included restoring the facade to align with the building face, creating a new access to the basement and reclaiming the former alcove as a display window for the ground storey suite.

Fold successfully guided the project through Development Permit, Building Permit and Occupancy Permit milestones, including guiding negotiations to formalize an access agreement for a historical, undocumented exit path through an adjacent property.
