Yes. Small decisions made in each project have a large impact when aggregated together. However, there is no 'silver bullet' solution for every project- each site, client, budget and brief is unique.  Early in the design process, we create a framework to meet your project's environmental objectives.

Build a Passive House Building.

The Passive House Building Standard is 'performance-based' energy target, designed to optimize occupant health and comfort while responding to increasing global temperature swings.

Passive House Design allows a project to be tailored specifically to its site, climate and client's values- generating a high performance building that heats and cools with the amount of energy it takes to power a hair dryer!

Select Low Carbon Materials

Every material comes with a carbon price tag. Taking a proactive approach to reducing and capturing carbon is a critical tool for building a resilient future. 

We take a holistic approach to every project and look for opportunities to reduce the impact of carbon production through the whole lifecycle of the building.

 

Every decision made on a project leaves a carbon trail and even small changes can make a large overall impact.

Reduce your Footprint.

A key Fold value is to do more with less, keeping unnecessary waste out of the landfill wherever possible.

We bring a critical eye to each project, assessing the cost and feasibility of retaining existing structures, retrofitting envelopes and reusing construction materials in an effort to reduce waste.

Designing for the future means creating buildings that can respond to a changing climate and adapt to new uses and landscapes with ease. 

We design for the long term, presenting ideas and strategies that solve the needs of today, but can adapt without undue cost to the unknown requirements of a changing climate.
